The half drawn curtain moved...

The half drawn curtain moved and little Jayden's feet were sticking out. I knew he was there, yet I went to other rooms asking the empty space where Jay Jay was. There would be silence. I complimented his great hiding skills as his giggles answered in response as he taunted me of how I could never find him from a further away room. I finally went back to where he was hiding. I snuck up to the curtain and pulled it back. The little boy looked at me and said "Boo!" I was a little confused until he ran off saying "It's not over till you catch me!" I laughed and accepted the challenge. I was of course three times his heighth and could catch him easily. That was until the smell of dinner filled the building. No four year old could possibly resist mac and cheese. I sat at the table waiting for him to return when he finally runs up and exclaims "I caught you!" Wasn't I supposed to be the one catching him? This kid couldn't follow his own rules, but he smiled so brightly with his small white teeth showing. He jumped in excitement, so I gave in and admitted my defeat. There wasn't any use in arguing with Jayden. Besides, it was dinner time.
